if i learned anything from relationships..
it’s that the world of friends and family will treat you very differently based upon it, sort of splits reality into two, a dimension where you are single to one where you are coupled. One could have you the happiest man alive, one could have you a depressed sob story. Either way, people will always treat you differently.

we are ungrateful that life isn’t going fast enough, eager to be away from the nest to find a new one. we get used to our possessions permanent or impermanent, used to living a life, orchestrated. we want what others have.
later, when sight is regained, we appreciate when we see that our walls, loved ones, and life savers are still standing.
